Acclaimed composer, violist, and improviser Jessica Pavone will release her sixth solo viola album, ...Is In the Air, on October 16, 2026. Released jointly by Relative Pitch Records and Weird Cry Records, the album will be available on CD through Relative Pitch and on vinyl through Weird Cry. A remarkable addition to her acclaimed body of work, it is the solo album listeners have been waiting for—intimate in scale yet powerful in its emotional and sonic reach. For more than two decades, Pavone has forged a distinctive musical language rooted in the viola's natural resonances, intuitive compositional approaches, and a deep sensitivity to sound as a physical experience. With ...Is In the Air, she opens that language further, expanding the idea of what a solo album can be through the incorporation of electronics and two collaborations with guitarist Fred Frith and Fugazi bassist Joe Lally. Based in Queens, New York, Pavone's work spans contemporary composition, improvisation, electroacoustic music, and collaborations with dance and visual artists. Across these practices, she explores sound as something tangible and felt, as much a vibration in the body as an audible event. “The prowess with which violist and composer Jessica Pavone creates sweeping, heartstring-tugging vistas is both cerebral and out of this world… Jessica Pavone is a freethinker who can’t be pigeonholed“ – Brad Cohen, Jazz Times “Pavone [is] not like other composers she is uniquely herself, and from that stems the improbable strength of her music.” -Julian Cowley, Wire Magazine “There are certain musicians that you can say, with confidence, could play a pair of shoes if it had strings. Jessica Pavone is certainly one. In fact, I’m pretty sure Pavone could get a good tone out of Velcro’s clogs if she so desired.” – David Nadelle, Tiny Mix Tapes

Long-time concertmaster, now musical director, of The Glenn Branca Ensemble and founder of band The Paranoid Critical Revolution, owner of the record label SYSTEMS NEUTRALIZERS, Reg’s innovative mix of frantic No Wave, Out Jazz, and screechy Metal as well as her inventive chords, angular atonality, and groundbreaking techniques, not to mention her impish sense of humor, have been an unsung influence on two generations of New York experimental guitarists. https://regbloor.com/ https://www.systemsneutralizers.com/ ----------------------- Dave Seidel composes and performs electroacoustic music with an emphasis on long tones and microtonal sonorities. He has performed at Issue Project Room (NYC), Roulette (NYC), The Stone (NYC), Shinjuku Pit Inn (Tokyo, Japan), Yokohama Airegin (Yokohama, Japan), Boston Institute of Contemporary Art (Boston, MA), Casa Del Popolo (Montreal, Canada), and many more. In March 2013, Scanlon was honored to curate The Stone, a not-for-profit art space run by John Zorn. Scanlon's writings on music have been published in Arcana: Musicians on Music VII. In April 2016, Scanlon and quilter Emma Banay presented their collaborative project, Quilt Music, at Interlude Asheville hosted by the Black Mountain College Museum and the Media Arts Project. Dave Scanlon is a librarian. "Dissonant synth and bass pulses balance guitarist/vocalist David Scanlon’s playful, scribbled yelps of the song title. Scanlon also adds some dizzying guitar interjections—his playing at one moment explodes with feedback, and the next is sharpened like a knife." -Pitchfork "Scanlon has managed to create off-center folk tunes that are as uneasy as they are dreamy." -Post-Trash "With Pink in each, bright blue, bright green, Dave Scanlon has once again crafted an album that contains multitudes." -Popmatters "each song marked by a meditative simplicity only possible through a deep engagement with one’s own depths" -Various Small Flames ---------------------------------------- Started in 2014 as one of many noise solo projects, Collapsing eventually came to stick as the moniker for noise projects headed by Paul K.

For Sova, the piano has always been home. A second generation pianist, she holds a deep reverence for her history, coupled with an exploratory ear, and moves quietly between musical worlds. Described as performing with "passion and profound tenderness” (Second Inversion), her intuitive playing style has evolved into a dynamic, cinematic sound that blends neoclassical, ambient, and jazz sensibilities. Sova’s new LP Alight! is out September 4th via Hout Records and marks an exciting expansion of her sound. In live performance and in close collaboration with audio engineer Sam Torres, Sova has become known for her intimate and highly-detailed sound design, welcoming listeners into the complex sound of the piano itself. Already garnering critical praise, Alight! has been described as “a mesmerizing fusion of neoclassical composition and indie electronic sound design” (Last Day Deaf) and “a deeply immersive and cinematic experience” (Expansion Radial). “Under the name Sova, Sophia Vastek continues to broaden her creative universe, exploring new textures and embracing a more collaborative approach while preserving the intimate sensitivity that defines her work.” (R+) ------------------------------------------------------ Abigail is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who bends the boundaries of traditional strings. Layering live instrumentation through effects pedals, she conjures dark, immersive soundscapes and haunting, emotive motifs that evoke the cinematic weight of a forgotten landscape.
